Long had been the days that had waxed and wane ever so slowly, perhaps it had been only one seasons change, yet the fear of what was to inevitably happen to the dwarf drew Tauriel a step closer to him.badasskili-deactivated20131208:
Kíli couldn’t help the smile that spread across his features, bright and lively as the dawn. “Tauriel!” He cried, dashing towards her before stopping short, realizing at the last moment that throwing his arms around the elf in an undignified fashion was probably not the most becoming of ideas. He straightened his back and held his chin high before offering her a nod, doing his best to seem poised, though he couldn’t hold back his grin. “It’s been - a very long time.”
Kíli’s heart rose as she lifted him, and he curled his arms around her neck, holding her tightly, his eyes squeezing shut for just a moment, feeling quite a bit happier than he would have admitted to the elf. He straightened his tunic as he returned to his feet - there was something about the way that Tauriel treated him that, when she did something like that: ruffled his hair, picked him up, he never felt as if she was being patronizing to his stature. It was fond, not mocking.
“Well, you don’t look a day over four-hundred.” Kíli said with a laugh, though, if he was honest, she did look older in a way. It was in the way she moved, the sadness in her eyes when she laughed, the little things. But she still looked lovely in his eyes.
