In one scenario with our characters, Tauriel was laying across from Kili, playing with his hair; braiding it as she told him the story of Beren and Luthien because the question was posed, What will happen to you, an elf, when I, a dwarf, dies?
At the end of the synopsis of beren and luthien, her hand comes to rest on his chest and she makes a joke, that’s actually not a joke and more along the lines of a regret and insecurity; “I was never made to sing, to look astonishingly beautiful- no god would ever find pity on me as they did with Luthien.”
