Somehow he doubted her words, he doubted that they meant anything, that she truly agreed with what he said, but did he say anything about it? No. Loki said nothing at all, did nothing at all aside from tear his eyes from her to look at something else in their surroundings, allowing his thoughts to take over, distracting him from the current topic. He was not going to force her in understanding what he said because he knew she was different than he. Her life experiences differed from his drastically and if he could not understand her feelings, her thoughts, her inner turmoils then she certainly could not understand his. But at least he tried, or could continue to try. For now, though, he preoccupied his mind with something else.

Loki had been correct. Tauriel would never sacrifice her friendship with the dwarf, those moment of true sincerity, no authority pressing down her throat, no war stories to be told; it was true, honest, sincerity. She could not wish to have any of it redone, if that were even possible. But his words held wisdom and truth, genuine and earnest truth that brushed against her heart and reminded her, it was what it was. A sad notion, yes, it was. But it was also beautiful. She had found a dwarf, who smiled to her without greed, without a grudge. She had saved him, befriended him in his short lived lifetime. And that was more than beautiful. Which is why she turned from Loki, unaccustomed to feeling such grief so openly, and unable to make eye contact, let alone allow him to see her face as she fought back a century worth of bottled up grief.

Inhaling softly, she leaned down, red hair falling over her shoulder as she placed a delicate kiss to his forehead. Lingering for a moment, before pulling away with the gentle words, “Thank you.”
Green eyes met with blue eyes, and she wondered in the back of her mind just when and how they changed. Tauriels tense grasp on Loki’s hand loosened significantly as she smiled thoughtfully at him. “What you said– Kili shall always be my friend.” Her lips pursed as she fought back a frown, and feigned a smile, “I simply miss him. Is all.”
