She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;. Multiverse: AU-crossovers-Book canon- Movie verse.
He was surprised, to say the least, as she swooped in close to his fingers to pull the piece of cheese held there into her mouth, but it was a pleasant sort of surprise that brought a smile to his face. The sort of smile that will not go away no matter how hard one tries. Busying himself with breaking off a few more pieces for himself and her, he reached out to take the goblet of wine and bring it to his mouth to hopefully hide his lingering smile. “Esgaroth,” he repeated softly, making a slightly puzzled face, which could have been directed to the wine he had just downed, eyes locked to the liquid inside the cup. “You are likely right about that. I cannot say I have—or had—the healthiest drinking habits in the entire world. Besides, drinking with others is far more entertaining, more enjoyable, in my opinion he makes the alcohol taste better.”
Another piece of cheese was held out to her after he’d popped one into his own mouth, waiting until he’d chewed most of it before a sip of wine followed suit. “Mmm, damn. This is actually pretty good together,” he mused with a smile. “Oh, what’d you say this bread tasted good with?” Now, a bony index finger was pointing the the lembas he had also pulled from the cupboard. If he knew what it was, he didn’t say so, nor was there any form of familiarity in his eye as he looked to it.
Half satisfied with the smile that graced his features because of her daring act, she perched on the chair; tall, lithe- the embodiment of grace as she slowly nursed her wine glass. She gave a quick laugh, her tongue running along her lip to remove any additional wine before she spoke. ‘Indeed, company does.“
A glint of a pleasurable emotion soothed her bright eyes as she gingerly plucked the cheese from his hand, curiously watching him taste for himself. Tauriel grinned as she cupped her wine glass close as she swallowed the cheese. "Lembas, an elven bread of many varieties. I make mine with honey and grain, and at times– cinnamon,” she admitted with pride. “It is best with honey, let me retrieve that.” Setting her wine glass down, tauriel moved to the cabinet to pull out a small jar of golden honey. “It just gets a bit.. Messy, though if you like sweet, you may just like this.” Gliding back to the table she opened the jar before him and placed it down, retaking her seat.
