Haldir’s brows furrowed for a moment, unsure how to respond. The anxiety was palpable, swelling to a boiling point, and when she chirped up, it spilled over in a chuckle. Haldir laughed, his voice only slightly edged by hysteria. 

Suil,” he greeted in return, kissing her gently on the nose. “Did I disappoint you?” 

His laughter caused her to smile, lips puckering as she shot her gaze from him; she felt so childish. But his voice brought her back to him, his touch eliciting the feeling of butterflies; that yearning for the other. 

Taking the chance Tauriel stole a kiss, her hands bracing against his chest. “Far from it,” she smiled against his lips, her forehead resting against his own. “What do you think, Nîn meleth, Nîn maethor?”
