    “It was an accident,” he whispered. “It really was. Their line of sight was clear and I whipped out of nowhere and got in the way. It was my fault, not theirs, and I will not let them be punished for my own careless mistake. I should have paid better attention, but I had not.” His words were soft, imploring her to let it go, to not punish them for his own wrongdoing. Still, her words and the little trill of her laughter managed to bring a smile to his face, albeit a faint one. “Am I?”

“You will not let them?” She exhaled, her hand leaving his face to wash the cloth in the water. Her voice heavy. “Loki, you make it sound as if I am going to deal a firm hand to my own kin for harming you. Though if this is what you think, it could be true if the circumstances aren’t as you say - and you were – hypothetically – harmed on purpose.  I have faith in my guards that it is as you say it is, and the only consequences would be more training. Which is not a bad thing,” She stood, carrying the bowls to the ledge where she poured them out, “it means they have time to spend with their family rather than out in the woodlands. It is far from cruel. Time is fleeting, even to immortals…And as for the later,” She flashed him a charming smile over her shoulder, “Yes. You are.”
