Very few individuals had ever succeeded in giving Loki butterflies. Actually, when he thought about it, before this event there had only been two people who had done such a thing and that had happened so long ago that he may have just been imagining it, though he certainly wasn’t. Loki was a bold man, he feared little, was almost always very confident, and being around anyone who he liked rarely brought that tossing within his stomach, the presence of excited butterflies. But with her it was very different; for the first time in a long time, those butterflies returned and it made him smile against her lips at the same time she laughed, the feeling of her tongue swiping along his lip still lingering long after the action itself. He had to laugh with her, something of a soft chuckle, before he pulled away only to pull her closer, into his lap. The mood from earlier vanished almost as quickly as it had come, receding into the bits of shadows around them until it no longer could be seen. Loki untangled his fingers from her hair, but only to smooth the locks carefully.

“Well,” he began with a crooked grin, glancing up into her soft face. “Now what?”

She shouldn’t do this, she knew it in her heart and her thoughts - she felt it. The temptation to devote herself to this man, at the price of one kiss; Hook, line and sinker. That she did care for him, and if anything should happen to him, this woodland wandering shapeshifter named Loki, she would truly feel pain. A familiar pain she felt a lifetime ago when she was young; A pain that knew no anecdote other than time.
Perhaps this was the after effects of knowing so much grief and strife and never having a proper outlet beyond throwing up steel walls, guarded eyes and following commands while leading. He was becoming her outlet and it was such a dangerous thing.. One moment she was ecstatic to feel, then next it was overwhelming, only conceived in the physical world to any looking at her by a slower blink, and hands that moved from his back to his chest as he placed her in his lap. Couldn’t something in her life just be simple for once, must she always go and complicate things? She did wish to sit in his lap after all..

Everything about him she liked. From his crooked grin, warm skin, odd scent and glances to things that he was unfamiliar with. A soft blush came alight upon high cheek bones as jaded eyes smiled, unable to contain that emotion against all the others she felt. He had at least managed to do that much to her. Tauriel’s hand came to brush his hair behind his ear as she gave a humored chuckle, repeating his words and smiling with such grace. “Now what?” It was both rhetorical and a question as she wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him.

“– I don’t know, but.. all I know is that I want you close like this..” Tauriel never was much of a physical contact sort of being, yet this did much to ameliorate it. A hug. Her body flush against his, her vision past his form and clenched shut. “Are you still tired?” Tauriel whispered.
