When Tauriel was a child, [now mind you, Elven children age rapidly due to mental growth. Meaning that yeah, sure, they look like a young child, but their practically a young adult by human standards of maturity. ] She would become fiercely protective of her parents, even in the company of the guards and king. Her form was too small to compete with a fully matured Elf, but that wouldn’t stop the young spit fire from “guarding” her own parents and going on “patrol” around the hut while they tended to domestic things.
Tauriel even had the habit of running off with the other children and leading them on adventures to stalk after the Guards on their routine patrols. Until she was caught by an officer and dragged back to her hut in mock handcuffs made from vine.
